Microsoft acquired Activision and Blizzard, Sony shares tanks 25%

Activision, that is known for games such as Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, has been acquired by Microsoft's XBOX. Microsoft sure paid the mother lode for Activision with a legendary $68.7 billion and this makes Microsoft the third largest gaming company in the world. This could also potentially take away games from Sony's PlayStation and make the newly acquired games XBOX exclusives. Now that popular titles such as Overwatch, Call of Duty and a lot of other popular titles are in Microsoft's hands, there's a chance they'll disappear as titles on the new PlayStation 5. Fears of this acquisition actually made Sony's shares lose 12%...

What are your thoughts?

I don't play much of those games either, but it is the biggest acquisition in the gaming industry! A few weeks back Take-two interactive, known for the Grand Theft Auto Franchise already bought Zynga, a mobile games developer known for titles such as Farmville, for a record-breaking $12,7b. Seems like Microsoft 1-upped Take-two and stole their record  :P
